If I had A Daughter, I Would Tell Her.

If I had a daughter, I would tell her – that there is no point in protecting your heart against uncertainty, nor brokenness, nor pain…because life will not offer you the opportunity to pick and choose, nor sieve out only the good bits.

Life will come at you – hard – and you will deal. But if you have the courage to take risks, to embrace vulnerability, to desire and pursue new adventures … new discoveries, to love unreservedly, to dip your toes in unclear water not knowing or caring how deep – you will live some of life’s most wonderful experiences.

And in the end, you will be as thankful for your cloudy days, as much as you are for your rainbows — and this thing called life? This thing called life will make complete sense.

I promise. x
